FRICTION
23-25 November 2017, The Civic Theatre
A witch, a Roman and a masked-man stumble across a bonfire in the middle of a Halloween night; ‘Trick or treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat: if you don’t, I don’t care, I’ll pull down your underwear.’ A piece of verbatim storytelling based on interviews with 27 young people from Dublin on the topic of rape culture. Freshly Ground Theatre’s first original work.
PRESS
'Importantly, both for its topic and its audience, Friction does not rely on pomp or a moral high ground from which to talk from. Instead, it takes young people, actors, audiences and others, and puts the conversation on their terms, in their own language.'
